What Is Guided Self Help
Guided self help involves working through self help materials with the guidance of a trained worker. The materials are provided; your worker will help you select which will be of most benefit to you. The explanations and tasks in the materials can help you to understand what you are experiencing and learn ways to make changes for the better. Guided self help is not a traditional ‘talking therapy’, as some of the work will be done on your own between appointments, however the worker will provide guidance on using the materials and help you problem solve any issues you are having with them.
We can provide sessions covering the following:
- Depression
- Self-esteem
- Self-compassion
- Worry
- Social Anxiety
- Assertiveness
- Panic
- Perfectionism
- Procrastination
- Distress Intolerance (managing difficult emotions)

What people have said about our service
‘I am much calmer dealing with situations and much more in control of myself’
‘I've always felt I was a worrier. People said that to me, and I just accepted it as part of my nature. The guided self-help has shown me that it doesn't need to be like this, and I realised that worrying can be controlled. I'm starting to feel a bit happier’
‘After completion I felt like a different person, I have a new outlook on life and I realise that, yes, I can do this!’
